SARA GETILLI
Travel advisor and experience architect for Raja Ampat
About me
I’m Sara! And I’ve spent years traveling across every continent—studying routes, testing transfers, and helping people plan trips that actually work.
Remote islands became my specialty. I even lived for several years on Little Corn Island (Nicaragua), a tiny, car‑free 3 km² island, where I built a house and turned 2,000 m² of jungle into a permaculture garden.
Planning around boats, weather, power, and limited services is second nature to me.
Why Raja Ampat
In 2024 I spent six months on the ground in Raja Ampat—moving between Dampier Strait, Waigeo/Mayalibit, Fam, Misool, and Batanta—tracking micro‑seasonality, ferry and boat reliability, safety standards, and homestay vs resort trade‑offs.
With reefs under pressure from climate change, I chose to focus here so travelers who care about marine environments can experience Raja Ampat safely, respectfully, and without wasted time—while these ecosystems still thrive.
I’m planning‑only. You get a route that fits the season and sea state, exact transfer timings, vetted boat contacts, and clear stay options. You book directly via my links and contacts—no markups, no commissions. The result: a practical, honest plan that’s ready to book.
Proof and approach
• On‑the‑ground intel across Dampier, Waigeo/Mayalibit, Fam, Misool, Batanta
• Micro‑seasonality by sub‑region to match wind and visibility
• Transfers that work (Sorong–Waisai ferries, public boats, private charters) with realistic buffers
• Safety‑first boat vetting and contingency options
• Clear choices: homestay vs resort, liveaboard vs land‑based
• Conservation‑aligned travel: permits, site etiquette, low‑impact practices
• No supplier commissions; transparent budgets
